HTC (or any) phone suggestions
alright, well, i currently have a samsung eternity. its a good phone, however, texting is a fucking bitch. the landscaping qwerty keyboard sounds like a good idea but its about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. in addition, the interface is a bit sloppy. i was looking at HTC phones prior to the samsung and im now reconsidering them. there are 2 things which are absolutely essential to me:
1. the internet browser has to be good. 2. texting must work flawlessly. (3.) if there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and good GPS even better im not limiting my choices to HTC, i simply thought they were good looking phones. any feedback on the brand would be helpful, suggestions for other phones (other than the iphone) would be greatly appreciated as well) tl;dr: need new phone, must have good browser & texting |

I have an 8925 tilt. I like it allot...just kinda slow sometimes when launching the phone interface or the text message interface with more than 200 past messages cached.
I've never used the Dream or Touch, but I hear theyre cute.

I have an HTC and it's the worst. Seriously steer clear. It's cool for a whole 2 weeks then will have major problems with its software and will freeze regularly.

Have you tried the iPhone? You can't beat it's browser, it's the best out there.
As far as texting, the keyboard is a slight pain in the ass and you do miss the right key every now and then, but the predictive text for it is really good at recognizing what you were trying and automatically putting in the right word when you press space.

If email is important to you, go with a Blackberry product - Bold, Storm, Pearl or Curve.
They have dominated the corporate market for years for good reason - they work really well and are well supported by the wireless carriers. |

i'd recommend the Bold, but it depends on HOW much you really need a browser. it's average at best. i'd say comparable to the iPhone's, just not as intuitive.

HTC Touch Diamond, I use it heavily for net/email and it works great. The touchscreen takes a little getting used to, but it works flawlessly. Haven't had any problems with freezing or anything, I'd recommend it to anyone.

i have a htc touch pro and i absolutely love it. zero problems . i have had the htc mogul, touch, and now the touch pro. the mogul didn't have enough internal memory and was annoying because of that, the touch needed a keyboard, and now the touch pro has everything i wanted. I also have a modified firmware for it that adds several features etc but that is part of the fun just like modding a car.

If you download Skyfire (which is free) it's a pretty solid browser for any phone. It loads everything, including flash, youtube, videos etc. Loads extremely fast and seems to be able to do everything. It's better than the iphone browser in functionality (since it can load things such as flash) but navigating is still inferior to the gesture controls on the iphone. Get a phone you like and download skyfire for web browsing I say!

I actually can't stand the Touch Pro. I have the version for Verizon (it has less RAM and it's actually noticeably slower). Mine doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack (i'm not carrying around a dongle). Maybe eVito's does (really, the verizon version is ass). I find the touch screen to be incredibly annoying as it doesn't automatically lock itself during a call (i've dialed out of/ended a call countless times). Luckily I only use it when I don't have a Tmobile signal. It's a shame too, because I really loved my old Tytn.
My sister just picked up a Nokia E71 and I actually think it's as good as my N95 in terms of functionality. It has a keyboard and the 3.5mm headphone jack. It's attractive and slim. The N97 isn't coming out in February. I've heard it's closer to June/July just for the Euro version that won't have US 3g. So I wouldn't hold my breath on one. The blackberry bold is getting rave reviews too. For a keyboard, music, and browser, i'd probably say your best bets are the Bold or the E71, unless the ATT/Spring/unlocked version of the Touch Pro really are that much better than mine. With that said, I havent found many things I can do with WinMo that I can't do with Symbian S60, but i'm not as into "modding" my phones as much as I used to be.
