Lead in Engine Oil? Check for Bullets?!

So like many BMW enthusiasts here I take oil samples with my oil changes to see what the wear is like. Also like many here I'm aware of typical BMW rod bearing issues showing up as high lead. So when my 328d suddenly showed REALLY high traces of lead I became worried. Except the N47 engine in my 328d isn't supposed to have any lead in it...

Check your build sheets for options code "22LR!"

Saw this in my feed this morning and watched since I enjoy your videos. Pretty crazy story actually. I imagine the most likely way to get in would be someone slipping it in the drain plug after an oil change…? Or is this an early (or late) April fools joke video? Either way I enjoyed it!

If someone put that bullet in there (which they did), it is in no way a joke but rather an attempt to asassiante your engine.

Who knows it could have even been from a rogue employee at the factory.

I've seen an E9x M3 with a handful of nails in the oil sump. Like proper big 2-3 inch nails. Apparently the owner of the car pissed off his wife (caught with another woman or something like that) and she threw in a handful of nails into his pride and joy thru the oil fill hole.

Luckily for him, she was not very mechanically minded. The nails went right into the oil pan and did zero damage on the way down. They were big/heavy enough not to clog up the oil intake tube also. The mech doing the oil change was shocked when a nail stuck out of the oil drain hole, removed the oil pan and found a lot more nails inside. Lol

So, we know Blackstone works for lead, but do you think their analyses should have caught increased copper from the brass though? I would have assumed flaking yellow metal would show up somewhere. The chunks are large but would have thought there would be microscopic fragments.
