Mechanical watch for runs recommend.

Any one use a mechanical watch for running and which model ?

Don't wear my glasses while running so need legibility. Thinking about IWC Aquatimer. I think A chronograph would be hard for me to read.

I may have asked this ? here before.

I dont like to wear any jewelry while exercising but I would think a fitbit/apple watch would be most conducive to running if you need something.

The only "nice" watch I have ever considered purchasing to wear while hiking/running was the Breitling Endurance Pro. But still, that's still $3k+ for a quartz watch.

Just my personal opinion, I wouldn't buy anything too expensive for risk of damage (hence why I didn't buy the Breitling myself), So I would go with something like the Seiko 5 Sports. Has an automatic movement, super durable, and if something were to happen to it, you're only out a few hundred bucks.

Something like a Hamilton Khaki manual wind wouldn't be the worst idea. Manual rather than automatic will deal with the forces associated with running a lot better. Grab a NATO strap and it'll work well I think.

Hamilton is one of my favorites always loved their Pulsar.

Also I have so many items that need recharging at the end of the day...I'm kinda sick of batteries and cables.
I thought the IWC Aquatimer would be cool but come to find out it's one of those pieces that prices tumble on.

Probably keep on using the G-Shock.

I don't wear a mechanical watch while working out, the Apple Ultra 2 is great for the information it provides, I'll save my Moon Watch for everything else. The Apple Watch gives you time, heart rate, elevation, Blood Oxygen levels and more but you can do any Apple Watch and be satisfied.

My personal recommendation is using a Garmin of some sort if you want good data. I know you said "mechanical" watch....I'm just choosing to ignore that part of the question

As a competitive triathlete, I used the Garmin Forerunner 910 for MANY years and it was amazing! There are certainly cheaper options if only doing running, but yeah I certainly would not go with a "mechanical" watch. All the "digital" options are fantastic, comfortable and provide excellent data.

For all the reasons I like my mechanical watch on daily use, none of them apply for running. I have a cheap Times Ironman, if I lose, damage it, or whatever I don't care. If just worried about time it is great, if you want all the extra data available go with Garmin or similar (assuming you don't if you considering a mechanical).

Accurately timing a run with a mechanical seems impossible and not worth the effort.

I have used my mechanical when traveling when I forgot the digital and with it being a rubber strap diving watch it worked ok (pretty light, can set time), can't see how a specific brand would make any difference.

While I run I only pay attention to Pace, HR and Distance. The other metrics are important after my run, when I analyze those metrics so that I can improve. And running time vs total time is different and important.

For a serious runner, mechanical watches are really useless except for knowing what time it is.

My Garmin Epix Pro gen II 51mm actually has an LED light in it and I chuckled and said what a useless feature. I bought the watch because I wanted GPS tracking for potentially up to 48 hour runs. It also has a one lead ECG and about anything you'd ever want to track.

I use the data because I have a running coach and want to do my best in my races. It's also fairly durable with a sapphire display as I wear my watch 24/7 even when working on things where I can scratch it.

As for the light in the watch, I freaking use it all the time lol. Now I'm not sure I want to go without.
