Question Question On Computer Certifications

so i applied for a job at bestbuy and one of the questions they ask online is if you have any computer certifications. i forgot to copy and paste the list but what is one that i can take that is easy and doable to better help me get the job?

i am applying for the instore positition as i meet the qualifications. any ideas? thanks.

It'd be easier to determine what's easy and doable if we knew a little bit about your present skill set and the position you're applying for. That said, I don't know if Best Buy is really going to attach too much weight to a certification. I guess if you're looking for the broadest possible client base an MCSE or CCNA might help.

im not comp sci major but just basic stuff reformatting comps, finding problems out, hardware and software upgrades, building computers, etc. nothing too fancy along with basic home networking and setting up wep on wireless networks . but in all seriousness i should be qualified for a geek squad job

I think you're likely qualified already based on my conversations with some of the salesmen and black shirts I've met in Best Buy. If you are looking toward certifications, those mentioned in my previous message should be good to start with unless you really want to get into the Unix/Storage business, which is a whole other game.

From the certs that I have (MCSE, MCSA, iNet+, Network+, CCNA, A+) the only one I can imagine would be a bit useful at Bestbuy is A+ and that is if you work in Geek Squad. For everything else, general knowledge of computers should be enough.

thanks guys for the input. does anyone know the other company like geeksquad (i forgot the name). it had a dog something like suredog, fast dog? it was a green logo with a dog shooting out or something.
