Audi RS4 - bye bye BMW?
I attended an Audi driving event in Chicago this morning. The main purpose of the event was to advertise the new Q7, which by the way, is a very nice vehicle (for what it is).
Participants were also able to ride around a small track (little orange cones, you know) that was set up in the Soldier Field parking lot in an RS4 piloted by a professional driver. I'm not going to go into a lot of details, but let me just say that I am still in total awe. The first ride was so unbelievable, I wiggled my way back in line to get a 2nd ride. I don't think BMW offers anything that offers *quite this level luxury combined with power and driving dynamics. And the sound of that engine / exhaust... oh baby! Hello RS4?! Yeah! By the way, pls don't flame me - I love my 330 and I'm just trying to give an honest opinion! |

ok...for what I know..the RS4 cost over $60+k and 330 is only $40s
If I have the money, I'll take the RS4 over a 330 anyday...IMO (Flamesuit on) I love this RS4 Ring Taxi

The RS4 seems like a cool car. An E90 shouldn't even be compared to it, it's like comparing the A4 to the RS4, HUGE difference. Until the M3 sedan comes out it's a niche market car.

You're wrong....even the m3 comp pkg couldn't catch up to the rs4 on the track but the new e90/92 M3..that might be a different story...but then Audi might have a RRS4...lol

man, the rs4 is a beast but its one generation ahead of the m3 right now. As soon as the new one comes out, it will be bye bye audi again. Besides Tim reviewed it on fifth gear (and i really think hes a good enough driver to judge) and he said that the m3 cs goes round a tracker quicker , and is much more fun

hes right, your wrong. only track where the rs4 is quicker is the `ring and bedford autodrome

No, I'm definitely not comparing the RS4 to the 330i (can't compare these!). But the current M3 really doesn't match up to the power, torque(!!!!), and many upscale amenities of the RS4, not the least of which is nicer interior upholstery, gauges, ergonomics, etc. So my point is really just that BMW doesn't offer a product that stacks up to the RS4. I imagine the new M3 will have a slight edge in performance, but I don't see the interior being as nice... not that everyone would necessarily place value on this, or even agree that Audi is better in this regard. Btw, I forgot to mention 4wd and 4-doors.

Great performance, but 12 MPG, and a huge price tag ($101,690 CDN with Premium Package). No thanks. I am too poor.

As a former Audi owner, who had his Audi in service for 4 1/2 months of the first three years...have fun with Volkswagen.
