Your Favorite Protein Powders

Before you start telling us about how you get all your protein from whole food sources, this thread is specifically for protein powders .

I'm on my 7th container of Kaged Muscle 100% Whey Protein Isolate Powder, obviously I really like it. It sells for $54-$60 for 3 lbs on Amazon.

I also like to switch it up, so what do you like?

ON is/was my go to when I use it. I’m trying to trim down as I get a bit older.

I tend to stick to protein powders that are vetted by elite USAPL lifters and/or coaches. My favorite thus far has been Dymatize Iso (all the flavors are great IMO), Elemental Formulations and BPN (Mint Chocolate is my go to).

PE Science Select Protein. Just ran thru the sampler, all their flavors are really good - easily the best tasting range I've tried (I've tried just about every protein out there). I ordered a full tub of Cake Pop and Cookies & Cream. Tastes fantastic w/ low fat Oat Milk (I never drink protein with water) primarily because its a whey/casein blend.

I've used ON tho for most of my weightlifting life (15 years)... only just switched to PE Science. Other great tasting proteins I've tried are Syntha6 and Gaspari Myfusion but those were a loooong time ago.

I took that stuff for over a year - great for putting on weight - solid price - great choice.

Usually go with MyProtein - good price when the sales are going. Can get 100 servings for around $60-$70

Update, just got 200 servings, $120 w/ tax. Good deal going on right now.

Decided to mix things up (literally) by adding half weight gainer and half straight whey protein - going with Dymatized chocolate pebbles cereal flavor and vanilla weight gainer.

Dymatize Iso is fantastic, but as I have gotten older, my body seems to respond a bit better to Jym (blend).

By respond I mean that i feel fuller from an appetite perspective and i _feel_ like i have seen some better results. Not scientific by any means.

Trutein Cinnabon flavor on bodybuilding.com. The best I ever had, and I’ve tried a lot.
2nd place goes to Isopure.

This - but I’m a vegan now and use their Vanilla Pea protein powder. Honestly, it tastes even better, with no weird aftertaste like whey, it just costs more.

And ON has less impurities and heavy metals etc than other brands. I’ve seen the lab tests and those other brands are loaded with fillers and crap, ON is not - and it’s Organic.

Im looking at the ingerdients from all these proteins you guys take, and they are all junk. Don't get caught up on the marketing hype or the recommendations from the sales guy that claims he knows everything about these at the store. Do your own research.

They all have added sugars (sucralose), natural and artificial flavours (industry loop hole for who-knows-what additives), soy lechitin, and so on...

You should really try and stay with purest New Zealand Whey without added crap.

If you don't particulariy care about the ingredients then all is good, however if you do care consider the following.

This is what I been using, alternating between vanilla and chocolate:

Cytosport Cytogainer has been my choice for the past 5yrs although it's difficult to find now. As a backup I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey(vanilla ice cream flav).

Switched to myprotein less than a year ago and love it. They more than doubled their prices in the past year so I only buy when I get emails with 40-50% discount which they usually send every 1-2 weeks.

+1. I was a big dymatize guy too. I drank their birthday cake flavor faithfully for years. Now Jym all the way. Those blends are so good. They all I get. I follo JYm's workout programs too. He's the Goat!
