I had always thought there was a factory 8 cylinder TR6 but I guess I was wrong and it was the TR7/8.

That's right and there were also works rally versions TR7 V8's using enhanced Rover 3.5 V8 engines.

Owned a TR6 and TR5 at one time,i've had loads of cars and they are great classics to keep and last of the real SC's.
