That was painful yet enjoyable to watch at the same time.

Some of those drivers simply missed the apex by a mile.

I love these Nur videos.
Except... There is this one particular corner (I know the track like the back of my hand but don't know the weird corner names) that is so slippery, I have seen a video of a DEER trying to run across and it busts its ass. That corner is slow in and slow out...or else. It's featured in a lot of these videos, it's where all the video guys sit to watch crashes lol One day I will spank this track in an Elise. |

Comin gin too hot or missing an apex is one thing but i see a lot of guys losing it under power. Has to be said, none of them were Porsche's, maybe they are not nuts to bolt the engine right over the rear wheels.

I'm surprised the track doesn't enforce a helmet rule. Even my local autocrosses have a mandatory helmet rule and we're talking about much lower speeds in a parking lot.

I think Schwedenkreuz doesn't like anyone, and M2's are no exception. And this car, NOM NOM NOM. |

No different than driving on the autobahn unlimited sections w/o a helmet. That said, you'd think common sense would kick in When I travelled there, I took my helmet with me. |

But I agree on the common sense regardless. There are states which have a no helmet rule to operate motorcycles on public roads. I still kept my helmet on. |

I am surprised how fast guys dive into that left hander at the end of the MASSIVE straight. Do they not hit a sim before they go? One's car gets VERY light through there, RIGHT as you want to brake, to go howling in like you are in a grippy GT3 race car but you're tootling along in a viper is fucking insane.

Less well known is that there is actually a speed limit, but it just isn't enforced. |

I've had a few close calls at the Ring chasing my sub 8 min lap goal.
Schwedenkreutz gets you every time. Car gets light over a crest, and there is a bunp the further away you are from the apex. Leads to rear loosing traction and oversteer at 120mph. But It does get routine after a while as it happens very consistently. Also Wehrseifen can be dangerous when not treated with respect. Very little traction off the line. Brunnchen is not so bad when dry and oil free. I've actually seen a lot of crashes at Sprungfugel/Pflantzgarten 2. This is just before, Pflanzgarten 1. Video ends at Pflanzgarten 2.

I had just about 2 seasons to do this, and I started slow. My first day there I was at 8:38 BTG. By the time it was time to come back to the States I did 7:52, with a projected optimal of 7:47.
I worked my way up slow. Learn from mistakes --> adjust line --> push harder where you think you might get away with it --> repeat --> now put it all together
