No complaints about losing an hour today? Interesting. No one missed it right?

Make it permanent and be done with it.

I don’t like losing the hour in March and needing to adjust, and don’t like it being artificially dark out at 7 a.m. I’d rather just abolish DST altogether (as opposed to making it permanent, which would effectively be changing time zones).

We are past the age when DST actually helped. We all have electricity and modern lighting so there is no need to rely on sunlight to live our lives. |

I guess it depends on where you live and what hours you keep. I'm on the eastern edge of the Central time zone and I get up at 7AM every day, so if it takes 30 minutes or so for the sun to come up, fine. But I hate getting out of work at 4:30PM and it's dark already. The permanent change would extend the riding season by a good bit. I'd rather have that hour at the end of the day. I can see where my neighbors across the border in Indiana might not be thrilled with it being dark at 7AM now, though.

Spring ahead = 23 hour day.
Fall back = 25 hour day. Worked third shift for 7 years at one of the largest corporations in the world, and their payroll system would still only pay us 8 hours for that night either way.....

I say move it back a half hour, compromise, and leave it be.

Works for me. Let's just stop flipping back and forth. It serves no purpose.

So... Did everyone change the batteries in all your smoke and CO detectors?

I was on a hunting trip. We started drinking after we finished and stayed up till 1 then hit the sack and got up and 5am and headed out. We were all so hung over and tired from lack of sleep that we slept like the dead last night and I honestly didn't even notice.
I might schedule a hangover every change if it helps that much.........

Meh instead of going to sleep at 2am it was 3am and instead of waking up at 10am it was 11am... big whoop. If it wasn't for the stove and microwave clocks that don't change automatically I wouldn't have noticed... maybe that's for the first world problems thread.
Just leave the damn thing so it's not dark at fucking 5pm. |

I had a little bit of trouble falling asleep last night, but otherwise I rarely notice the change. Wifey takes a week or so to adapt, though.
