Good read for anyone interested in the LFA. I for one love this car.
I know it's not for everyone, but it's the car I'd buy and daily if I ever won the lottery. And that 2000GT....car porn https://jalopnik.com/what-its-like-t...ing-1846237160 |

That's like telling an M2CS buyer to just mod a regular m2 or telling someone it's not worth it to spend over a $100k for an E30 m3. I don't think that argument would fly bc you are paying a premium for "specialness" of the car. I don't think an M2CS is worth it, probably bc I don't view it as such a special car, but I do think the LFA is special. It's subjective to a large extent. Some cars just resonate with some people, others don't. If I had the option of a Ferrari, Lambo, Mclaren, or an LFA, I'd get the Lexus. |

Good article. The LFA is one of those cars that comes once in a lifetime. It mixes all of the great things from Toyota (Japanese Quality and Engineering, Attention to Detail, Craftsmanship, etc.) with all of the things you'd never expect, from the V10, to the fact that its a supercar with a badge typically associate with luxury cars and the exhaust! Its truly a special car, even if it was a sales failure (that likely was an influence to Toyota to not build their own sports cars again... MK5 Supra).
This video from SavageGeese came out two months ago, but it was just excellent and a great detailed look at the car from a driving, engineering, and buying experience. |

Over time I have come to appreciate the LFA for what it is. It is certainly an engineering marvel and from all reports a fantastic car to drive.
I feel that it did not sell well because it took ten years to finally be offered to the public and was then often outperformed by a then under $100k Nissan GTR and NSX. I believe many, as well as myself found that hard to overlook. Similar to Gordon Murray’s T50, the focus Of the LFA was on delivering a pure driving experience. Had Lexus put in a traditional manual that might have been better communicated to the public and journalists alike. As it is, folks put $400k Lexus supercar against others of the time and it did not perform as well as many felt it should. It is not a slow car, nor is an e46 or e92 M3, and in time people remember the experience, letting comparison numbers be debated between the latest and greatest. Over time I think the LFA will gain more and more appreciation from fans of driving. |

Not sure why you're getting butthurt at me saying I'd buy an LFA over the ferrari, lambo, etc. The cars you listed just don't do it for me, that's just how it is. Lol. There's gotta be a reason that they're going for $500k don't you think? |

Anyway, yeah it's rare and it's $500k. If one of those rich collectors you speak of, posted that they just bought an LFA bc they appreciate the passion and engineering behind the car, would you proceed to tell them that they should've bought a used Aventador instead? Lol I think you get the point here. Both of the original post and why some cars just resonate with some buyers and others don't. Not everyone views automobiles in a monolithic manner especially when we are discussing exotics and super cars. Different strokes for different folks my man. |

Meh... my F80 M3 sounds like that....
Ok maybe not 🤣 I still want a NSX so yeah, not everyone wants a fancy smancy Lambo etc... so yes, different cars resonate with different buyers for many reasons. |

THe LFA is HANDS DOWN the best sounding V10 created. I have a video clip I took of one that I saw in Napa being photographed for a Lexus promo. Its such a cool, clean looking car and it sounds freaking amazing

Only the Carrera GT and LFA have 68-72 degree V angles that sound like the old F1 cars at WOT. So, you actually cannot get this sound for a similar price, as the CGT is even more expensive than the LFA. The gearbox is the only downside of the LFA for me. But the car is worth $500k for the engine note alone, IMO. |
