2021 Australian F1 GP officially postponed!
Well it’s official!
Australian F1 GP postponed until toward the end of the season. Great start to what should be a great season. https://www.grandprix.com.au/fan-zon...ZGFmMjM5In0%3D This is quite an unusual decision as the Australian Open is going ahead in a few weeks time |

With appropriate testing and isolation the event could have quite easily have gone ahead. As I said in my original post, the Australian Open is going ahead in three weeks time. I’m not a tennis fan but I would guess more spectators would attend that event the the GP and I know damn well there are a lot more competitors in the tennis. I find it strange? Edit- attendance for the 2019 F1 was 324,000 with the attendance at the 2020 tennis being 812,000! There are roughly 1300 competitors for the tennis compared to 20 drivers. I would imagine the pit crews outnumber the entourage of the tennis players but have no idea? Last edited by HFW003; 01-12-2021 at 05:07 PM.. |

I think it has more to do with travel distance.
Looks like they want to keep it to around Europe/UK/Middle East/Asia, atleast until later in the schedule when they probably hope things will be better. But my guess is they will cancel Canada next as that is the first trip to NA.
