The George Russell Qualifying Thread

So, George Russell will have the opportunity to QUALIFY the alleged greatest car in the history of Formula One.

Where will he qualify. I'm only going 1-10+ because if he qualifies lower than 9 does it really matter. Keeping in mind we have Fisi and the lamented Luca Badoer as examples of what being dumped into a top seat can yield but I suspect George is a better driver than both of the aforementioned.

Where will you put him in QUALI?

I will add a race thread, as well.

Bottas does qualify quite well so I'm going for P2.

I'm optimistic he's going to be a quick study. P2, within 0.3 to BOT on pole.

I’m a huge George fan, so I’ll go ahead and say he is going to seize the opportunity and grab pole. As a logical human, P2 with a podium finish.

Beating someone at the back of the pack is a different thing than at the sharp end of the grid. He's now with the Varsity. Let's see how he does!!

I'd love to see George get pole...fair and square.
At the same time see Ferrari get their mojo back...so Leclerc can qualify up at the pointy end of the grid.

I do, as well. I think Kimi and ALO need to step back and let the young blood come to fore. Enough is enough.

My friend this is how the Sakhir outer-layout (the oval) looks like .

The oval is merely 3.543 kilometer , they will run it in +/- 54 sec. Average speed +/- 230 km/h
Another thing is the "87 laps"

In other words a Merc 'dream' track my friend.. should walk it with their longer lasting re-generate advantage plus the other things, that is unless they overcook things.. HAM's not there to guide BOT

Tough call I think it’s going to be close and not just b/c of the quick and simple track layout...the car certainly won’t be as hard to drive as the Williams but will be interesting to see how quickly he can figure out how the Merc wants to be driven...more pressure on Bottas I feel...P1 for Russel I think he’ll find the magic in Q3...incredible opportunity for him

Yes. I see this as a field day for Renault and tRacing Point, to be honest.
