Court decision, can anyone explain?
So a few months back I got a speeding ticket and I decided to contest via mail, and I got a letter regarding my ticket and it says that my ticket was deferred but I have to pay $175.. I thought the charges are dismissed if you get it deferred? No? Somebody hit me with some knowledge!

Deferring the ticket means it won't go on your record, but that you still have to pay it. There are rules you have to follow, which vary by where you are.
I got a ticket and deferred it, by I can't get a speeding ticket for 180 days from the deferral date, otherwise it goes on my record. That help you? |

you still have to pay the fine + "court costs" but the advantage of deferred is after 6 months without a ticket the original ticket remains off your driving record. it's what i do whenever i get one, therefore my insurance stays low.
