Firearms - Stage or Storage Solutions
I don't want to get into the whole "staging vs storage" debate...
[A] I DO want to see your solutions for either staging your firearm for the ready.... methods of concealment... either living room, den, kitchen, safe room, bedroom, man cave, garage, etc etc. [B] And your solutions for safe storage of your firearms for temporary or long term care. Steel lock box, closet, fire safe, or something custom? [C] I especially would like to know what you've come up with for transporting your firearm in your vehicle... I used to have a mini lock-box type of safe permanently mounted in the truck of my old crown vic... Used the same safe for a permanent mount behind the seats of my Envoy... I haven't found a good place or system yet in my F25... Have you? |

My old house, I had one of those in the coat closet by the living room, and one in the stairwell to the basement (with dehumidification rod).. one for short stuff / one for long stuff.
In the living room, I had one of these: |

Yes, there is.
I thought that maybe a dedicated thread to safes, storage, and unique hardware solutions was justified... as opposed to tagging up an existing 200 page thread talking about just the tool, and not necessarily the tool boxes or environments that they're kept in. YMMV of course |

My longarms are always into their individual carryboxes with 2 diallocks or keylocks and stored into a class III weapon closet. Handguns are stored also into locked boxes and also into a shelf into said store.
Ammo outside of appartment into the cellar and there into a small wall mounted class III safe. Weapon laws into Germany a very restrictive, as a gun license holder you have to expect spontaneous checks of the Police and/or the authority to ensure that the regulations are all fulfilled. I would never give them the chance to catch me by surprise.

I have one of these bolted low on the side of my 300+ pound "night stand" located next to my bed for my EDC/night unit:
For the vehicle, my daily driver for 10+ years was a pickup truck, with several convenient aftermarket gun safes available that mounted under the center jump seat: There are shallow aftermarket safes available for other vehicles, if you want to cut a hole through the floor and throw a floor mat over it. I never looked at BMW options, because I only drive it to work and entering the grounds with a weapon (even in a locked safe) is a felony. Plus, my BMW is a rolling battery pack with a carbon fiber chassis, so cutting through the floor isn't an option. I always take the pickup when going to the range, since it blends in better in the parking lot.....

This is the most American thing I have ever seen. Needs a bald eagle to finish it off though.

NICE
I've seen similar organizational pieces for safes... usually a tad bit smaller scale... Nice to have a storage system that can grow and adapt with you!!! This is the first I recall seeing anything for generic open wall, though. My OCD approves of that setup very much! |
