Toddler toy recommendation
My son is almost 2.5 years old, he likes cars. I wanted to buy him something that he would like to play around in right now (drive it occasionally i guess) but is also a bit future proof. He likes those battery operated cars that are 100 bucks or whatever, I thought maybe there is something more interesting around, something that will last. Any ideas? I am guessing anything gas operated is too early to think about
Ps I would've probably bought him one of those cheap battery operated ones but none are in local stores now and that got me thinking of getting something better since I am buying online anyway Last edited by Kolyan2k; 07-21-2020 at 07:22 AM.. |

My wife's uncle bought a similar Mercedes one and my daughter (2.5 yrs) absolutely loves it. She now likes bringing her 10 month old brother around in it. She hasn't learned how to control the steering and gas so I need to control it with the remote but she loves acting like she is driving. Definitely a great investment during these quarantine times. We basically go out every day to drive around the block.

Keep the battery size in mind. There is a local guy where I live that makes these things. When I bought mine I could choose the car then battery size and even engine power. He has one for older kids that can go 20km. I upgraded the battery size so it can last 3 hours of use. Driving up hill or on the grass sucks the juice. The battery size doesn't determine the speed.
It's a great toy but also very functional. It's a great alternative to using a stroller which my kid now hates. Great for walking to local grocery stores or errands that are walking distance. It also has the added benefit of make everyone's day who sees him driving it. |

Get him a 70cc chinese quad you can set the throttle to certain limits and he can grow into it. He’ll have way more fun and get alot more use out of it than a battery car

I hear that there are some models that people are able to add other batteries to make them faster. That might be a good idea.
I have seen some other people using their phones to control them which may be a good idea as well for when the kids are tired. |
