Take that Nissan and General Motors, you thought you had the Nurburgring record in the bag, but you didn't see this one coming. The Dodge Viper ACR has lapped the famous circuit in just 7 minutes 22.1 seconds, slicing more than 4 seconds off the time of the Corvette ZR1 and around seven seconds off the time of the Nissan GT-R. |

Wow, and now Dodge is considering selling it. They own the fastest car available and they're going to off it as a non-core model? Ugh.

naturally yes Spec 1. american car manufacturers have been engineering failures for years now. any success is very undesirable and is consider a disaster. thus they have to sell

I most be the only one that views this record and calls it fraud. This car is nothing like the Corvette ZR1 and a heck of a lot less like the GTR, it a racing car with number plate and should be classified in that category. I have said this before and will repeat it, it is not difficult to make any car handle well but to make it comfortable, refined and feel like a quality product while still handling well takes skill and all I see here is a rude, crude, semi-professional race car for the road.
Maybe you guys Stateside get all misty eyed at this thing and feel a bit of national pride but it not in the true spirit of the thing as the other manufacturers have done. P.S. Try riding on the rev limiter for as many occasions as was done here and see how long your car will last. No wonder third gear was a problem. ![]() P.S.S. Flame away, I have my flame-proof shorts on. |

+1, though the GT3 is probably more liveable than the Viper.

rev limiter probably cuz Vipers have like 4K rmp red line on that V10 (exagerating),.. still the car does good, probably with some sort of sequential gearbox the car could do better as it could shift up and down faster, reduce limiter use and improve overall time,... I believe the Viper is cool and this one does a great lap,... that's it... but I do agree that it is not like the ZR1 as for "production ready"

wow, this viper ACR sure bottoms out a lot. and althought there is nothing wrong with it, its kind of funny to see the stick shake only at redline. no doubt it takes a certain kind of person to buy into a viper. but to be honest, any production car that bottoms out from the factory is just unacceptable.
