I test drove one a few weeks ago. It's beautiful in person. However, the steering feel was lacking and the suspension in dynamic mode was way too jarring.

Thanks for sharing where did you drive it? Without any commercial endorsement, was it in Mission Viejo?

The suspension being jarring in dynamic mode is an alarm. At this price range, jarring behavior is symptomatic of insufficient suspension travel and less than responsive ECU logic.

Did Audi product specialist have a chance to explain what dynamic means in Audi speak?

I'm shortlisting it for a one car vacation home. Need to see and drive but on paper it checks a lot of boxes. Nardo gray!

He's kind of slobbery but I do trust his reviews for an overall idea about cars.

I drove one at Audi Fletcher Jones (Costa Mesa). I really wanted to like it. As I said before, the outside looks great and the interior was stylish.

The sales guy wasn't too knowledgeable unfortunately.

If I lived where it snowed for a few months a year that would be on my short list.
I'm playing in the Alps right now with this girl, and it's fun.

As a former B7 RS4 owner I was pretty excited to hear they were going to offer these stateside.

However, as mentioned by others, I would be more excited to see the RS4 avant become available.

At this price point it's impossible not to look at used RS7s.

I'm not in the market for anything right now but when the time comes, I may loop back on the used market in a few years.

Good point, but the utility of a sportback is way beyond that of a sedan IME.

The other thing is that it prices out at 80K, same as an M550i that I also speced out similar. It's simply not worth that much IMO.

Not sure what that one had, but I saw that dynamic steering was an option on the build. Given my experience with BMW, that's a big red flag.

Spent some time with one a dealership recently but didn't get to drive it. Have driven the S5 though...it is fast and competent but steering feel [as typical of Audi] left a lot to be desired. I can't imagine the RS5 being much different.

I felt the RS5 Sportback is a good looking car but is also very teutonic, especially the interior. Whole car just lacked personality in my opinion. This is something subjective that can't be quantified obviously, but I much prefer the ///M3 and C63 Merc.

I'll admit, however, I tend to be biased against Audi. I don't see myself ever getting one as my personal car...maybe a Q7 when I have a family or something. But BMW ///M division and Porsche are the cars I lust after.

The windows actually look interchangeable. I'd have a manual RS4 Avant right now, but the RS5 SB leaves me cold.

Which itself is a stylistic rip-off of the RS7, so...it makes sense
