Where to buy Panasonic Plasma TV?

I'm looking to buy the Panasonic TH-50PZ800U 50 inch Plasma TV.

Anyone know of a retailer in L.A. that is selling this model at a fair price?

Online kinda scares me because of the horror stories I've heard and because this is a higher ticket item.

Thanks.

Best Buy?

Ordering a Plasma/LCD TV online would scare the crap out of me.

I got mine at Magnolia (BB) and they even price matched. I got the 57" version and IMO the only plasma better is the pioneer kuro that costs much more

You can get at Best Buy and they can price match as well.

Never be afraid to ask at one of these big box retailers. Their prices are not set in stone.

I've always avoided ordering plasmas online because of what could happen during transit

Called Magnolia, best price was $2699

Amazon has it for $2499 shipped
Cleveland Plasma (members of AVSforum speak highly of them) $2350 shipped
but these are obviously both online retailers.

Problem with Best Buy, Fry's, Circuit City, etc is that they only price match with Brick & Mortar retailers, not online retailers (I already had that argument with a Circuit City sales rep yesterday).

Still looking... thanks for the help guys.

Magnolia price matched Amazon for me a couple weeks ago when I got my 52" Samsung LCD. I got the feeling they needed sales. The only way I could have gotten it cheaper would have been through a shady online retailer.

Highly recommend them. (Magnolia, not the shady online guys...)

I'd test watch it under 24fps mode before buying it. The reported flicker issue would worry me. If I were buying it I'd call my friend that works for panasonic. The friends and family discount that they get is really good. Otherwise you might want to look at stores that have 0% financing for 2 years or other similar deals.

Hook it up

Yeah I heard about the flicker issue with 24fps, seems to get better with time.

Went to Costco earlier to see if they had it in stock but they closed early, I guess I'll try again tomorrow. If they don't have it I think I'll go with Cleveland plasma. Thanks.

Yeah, if you can't get in on EPP, then I would go with Costco. Easiest place to deal with for returns, etc.

Buy it from any Panasonic Authorized Dealer, listed on their website.

If they are like Denon & Sony, they will list authorized web retailers also.

As long as it's an authorized dealer, no warranty issues.

Get BB/Magnolia to price match a quote from an authorized web retailer.

Get several quotes for installation/mounting also, if needed. Find out what BB/Magnolia will charge before buying from them.
