Too soon?
Ok so i posted that i asked that one guy out from my class. So whatever, we're talking.. went to see a movie last night. He stopped by my work on friday night..etc. Well i kinda think he likes me alot now. He told me that hes gonna stop by the restuarant tonight to see me and grab some dinner. Whatever, i mean its cool and all, but i dunno if hes pushing it you know. He tells me he cant wait to see me again, he thinks im incredible, and weve only hung out like 3x. yea we talk in class, but its not like i want a relationship or a boyfriend. After the movie last night, he was driving back to his place.. so i casually said, um i think your going the wrong way. Nevertheless, i think he felt stupid and said o.. i was gonna go back to my place, if thats cool. I was like o sorry i didnt know, so he ended up turning around. How can i not lead him on..? I like hanging out with him, but i think hes a little more into it than i am.

LOL, that guy is getting stroked. If he already likes you its going to be hard just being friends. Thats how most guys are. There always be that attraction towards you.
If you want to be friends with him, cool. Just let him know what the deal is. Communication is key for this one. On other hand If he does not get a clue its on him. Let him crash and burn, he will learn and then move on. |

You asked him out because you were interested in his friendship or just wanted someone to hang with for a movie?

If your going away to college soon, I wouldnt worry about dating someone. Enjoy your last few months together with everyone, and go enjoy college.
The people that had SO's my freshmen year of college (years ago ) usually were not happy either with their relationship, or their social life their first year. Just go out and have fun. |

I personally wouldn't want to get involved in a relationship if I knew I was going to move soon, especially college as you don't want to enter that with strings attached. It would be best to just talk to him and lay out what you feel rather than hide your guys' feelings. After 2 relationships, being somewhat forward can solve a lot of issues imo. Just out of curiosity, what school do you go too?

In a man's mind... there is no such thing as "Just Friends" between a man and a woman, for something always gets in the way. <GRIN>

I wish I had your problem, bella--not with men, of course, though!
But what others have said are right. The only time you'll ever see a guy being "just friends" with a girl is on TV, mostly on those cheesy, superficial teen shows. In the real world, there is no gray zone left for interpretation when it comes to friends. I have no girl-friends. I have never spoken a single word to any girl after she turned me down. |

I'd have to agree with the above to some extent, but it may just be the way you asked him to go out. Maybe he's just reading more into it than you meant. Personally, if a girl asked me if I wanted to go to a movie with her, just the two of us, I'd assume she's interested. If it would have been "a couple of us are going to a movie you want to join" I'd be much more likely to think "friends". You better just let him know what's goin on, whether you just want to slow down or just be friends, what ever it is.

Hahah, as a kid going through college, I had a ton of female friends who I did not have interest in. That doesn't mean they weren't pretty - most of them were single and very attractive. I befriended them simply because I would personally feel like a lamer if I didn't have any female friends (but no offense to the guys out there who lack them). Also, talking to other girls about girl-issues is what I felt was pretty cool.
In response to Bella, how do you know he's looking forward to a relationship? Most guys just want to fuck and move the fuck on. So if he's one of those guys - there's your way to burn time but if he really is a stage 5 clinger, then you probably just drop the axe now before he turns psycho on you.

I didnt ask him to the movie. How i asked him out was by asking for his # for class related stuff. Then he we chatted online a few times, and he made it known that he was interested.. I tried to not sound like i was really into him, so i played it nonchalant.
However, now hes smitten, and wants to hang out with me often. He came to see me Fri at work, The movie was last night, he called me this morning to see if i was home so he can stop by and say hi. Then he said well maybe ill come into your work later to see you, then he asked me what i was doing monday night. Not to mention i see him in class mon and wed. I think i am going to just straight up tell him that im leaving and dont want to be close to anyone, plus i wanna spend as much time as possible with my girlfriends. I dont want to make things awkward since i see him at class, but we can still hang out.. but i was thinking like once a week. Edit: And to be honest, im still a lil freaked out bout dating, esp after what my x did to me. Im worried about trusting guys, and realizing that their pyscho. I dont wanna be a laci peterson story.

Im not trying to be mean but it's kinda your fault in the first place. Guys are more into those stuff than girls. If you asked him out then he would def. think you're interested, which you are. I think it's wrong to ask a guy out just to kill time. But it's not completely on you, the guy's just moving wait to fast. Remember that men think about sex every 6 seconds LOL that's probably all he wants right now. If that's the case then you dont have to worry about leaving his ass.
On the other hand, if he wants a seriously relationship (which I seriously doubt cus of the way he kissed you), then it's best to let it go now before he crash and burn. If you tell him you're moving he's just gonna push things even more. It really depends on you though : are you or are you not planning to sleep with him?? If you will ultimately do so, I dont see the point of taking it slow... |

He's obviously coming on way too strong, so it's partly his fault that he has probably smothered any interest you might have had in him... but still, he has made it very clear he is interested so if you're not you need to tell him otherwise you're leading him on.
Maybe this is personal... but since you brought it up, what did your ex do to you? |
