1966 Mustang we had completely redone - Feedback appreciated

Well, we had this 1966 mustang since my grandfather bought it, always had problems with the engine and a lot of it was rusting out because of the old use (always kept in heated garage now etc).

I'll show a before picture and all the after.

Thanks for looking, any questions just reply below and I'll answer them! Also, thanks for the feedback.

Clean build! Looks like you put a ton of work into building it. Ive always been a big fan of getting rid of all the chrome. Looks like you also tucked the bumpers in?

Great restoration! I like the modern touches, although personally I love the old slotted mags! Were you able to restore those too? Slotted with blackwalls!

So much wear on them, not really worth it in the end.

Sorry to say but my honest feedback is that you should have kept the classic OEM look. Bringing it back to it's original state would have fared better and it would probably hold it's value more going forward. The red with white roof was stunning.

I understand that theory but props to RyderSU for not doing it that way. I feel like it when it comes to older cars, everyone just wants to restore them. And maybes its because of my age (mid 20's) that I don't understand the nostalgia. Its refreshing to see an older car with modern looks and function (ie the touch screen).

I should have clarified i'm speaking of the exterior only. Everything else is great. I agree that having modern tech makes it more livable. I could not drive around these cars without being able to play my favorite music.

I think maybe i'm just put off by the wheels or it could just be the quality of photos.

For my nostalgia it's the Style5 wheels on e30's, sadly I have attempted to put a set on my e88. Massive fail in finding a set unless I buy used most likley from Germany. I also feel they'd look meh but doesn't stop the nostalgia, lustful eye for a set of 36111182465 71/2JX17 ET:41

Honest opinion. The wheels kill the entire build, they just don't compliment the car at all. Needs omething modern with a vintage look. Paint scheme is ok, personally would have done solid color. Otherwise looks like a solid restomod build.

About holding value, our car is appraised at about 12x of what it was appraised at before the build. What we did to the car (upgrades and changing it) made the value greater. Also, we don't plan on ever selling the car, which is why we added our own personal touch.

When I go down to the garage next, I'll snap some better photos, We also have a photoshoot coming up soon for the front cover of a magazine (will get the name of the magazine soon as well).

It was originally going to be the all charcoal gray, but after seeing it painted, we had to add the black to it to give it more of a pop. If you would've saw it plain, you would've agreed.

Work looks nice but as said, those wheels kill the whole look of the car. I bet with some better rims on there it will change the whole look of the car and make it look much better IMO. When I look at it with those wheels I start thinking of a hoopty 5.0 fox body that all the guys around here "swang" and do donuts in. Sorry, just MHO

I like your critique, did a quick search and nothing found but
I'd suggest a modern contemporary Keystone wheel if they exist... in a size that fits...

the bigger thing with the wheels is because of widening the body, we had to get a wider tire, and we didn't want to use spacers at all or anything. Only had so many options for a muscle car look.

I second the Crager 5 spokes. The wheels on it now do zero for the car.
