How do I figure out what car this is?

We've struck up a friendship with a pretty well known photographer, Lawrence Schiller, and he's recently gifted us with 2 of his works. While I can identify water around Marilyn Monroe, I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of car Tippi is driving.

Larry can't remember, but he said it was one of Alfred Hitchcock's personal cars, I knew it wasn't the one Tippi drive in the birds because of the chrome strip.

I'm thinking it's some 1960's Plymouth but it's driving me crazy every time I look at it

How do I figure this out if even the photographer doesn't know?

65-67 Belvedere Convertible? Looks like it has the same mirrors, same profile and some had the matching chrome trim along the swage line

Edit: Same era Satellite is an option too, more of those looked to have chrome swage lines, but I don't think the interior mirror is the same.

Thanks for the replies. At least it doesn’t look like I’m too far off.

To capture the image, he had to clamp the camera on the side of the car while she drove. I thought it was interesting since now, we’d just photoshop Alfred Hitchcock in.

Close, but the chrome is fatter in the picture and neither mirror matches. Wing mirror has two legs in the photo, and rear view mirror doesn't have an overlapping arm, in the photo the mirror hangs directly from the arm rather than the arm continuing.

I agree that the chrome looks fatter and the mirror thing but I think that's just the angle. I'm pretty sure I was completely off and that Gatorb8 is indeed correct. The bits of dash gauges matches the photo 100% when holding up the listing next to the photo. At first I thought the visor color was different but that could just be the lighting also

Thank you all!

Still no. Look at the round mirror, compared to the 1960 Fury. Trim is very close though.

I think you nailed it. 1961 Lincoln.

Compare the rear view mirror in the photo in question with this:

Next, examine the dash in the photo. It's broad and flat on top, then dives sharply down at about a 45 degree angle as it approaches the wing window. Just like this:

I'm agreeing that I was completely wrong at first thinking it was a Plymouth product and going with everybody who thinks it's a Lincoln and the angle just threw things off. The clincher for me is that the gauges match up perfectly.

Here's a close up from the photo. They match perfectly.

Thank you all, now I can finally piss in peace (it hangs in the powder room)

GatorB8 nailed it!

I was going to say a 1966 Chrysler convertible (image below)...Wrong!

You are 100% correct...check this link to Tipi Hedrin:

Good call!

Update: From Pinterest information about the image

"Tippi Hedren and Alfred Hitchcock / Photographed by Lawrence Schiller / Los Angeles 1962
Tippi Hedren at the wheel of a Sultana White 1961 Lincoln Continental 4-Door Convertible; Alfred Hitchcock visible in rear-view mirror. Silver halide chromogenic print. Lawrence Schiller, 1962"
