Value of CPO vs Used?
Curious to the members thoughts regarding the value of buying CPO vs. used. The CPO come with the CPO warranty which is now unlimited mileage for up for 5 years (or option to add a 6th).
I'm looking at a few used 16-17 M3's (below 15k miles), some CPO and some used. This will be my daily driver and will probably put 15-20k miles per year. Cost is in the $60-66k range (upper end for CPO). It would be nice peace of mind that I could own an M3 and not have to worry about repairs for 4-5 years depending on which MY I purchase. |

CPO. Too many things can go wrong. All of them very costly.
Always bought extended warranty on all my Ms for that reason. I keep my cars for at least 5 years and up to 10 years for my E46. The extended warranty was well worth it on the E46. |

CPO or a Third Party extended warranty (after factory warranty expires) are a must in my opinion. I would compare the CPO cost versus 3rd party options.
If you plan to tune the car you may be better w/ 3rd party as BMW NA has become very difficult in this regard while the 3rd party plans tend to be more lenient. Good Luck.

I went CPO. My buddies that own a shop and work on these cars told me to be sure it is CPO or get an extended warranty. They don't always see them for major repairs, but when they do they are pricey.

You have two options. You either buy the car CPO, or you buy it used and purchase a Gold (equivalent to CPO) or Elite extended warranty. Ask your SA what these cost before pulling the trigger.
