Magnesium citrate, isn't that the stuff that blows up your digestive system? I remember when I was in high school I had a buddy of mine tell me that he used it to cut weight for wrestling. Tried it, Lord have mercy.

I take 400mg (I think, 2 pills) a few days before big planned events, and then 3-4 times a week in general. Friday was the first game of soccer for the season, played first half in goal then 40 of the second half. Home and asleep about 1.5 hours later, no waking up screaming in the middle of the night. When I did the Spartan run at Dodger stadium, I think we ran every freaking staircase in the damn stadium!! I had calf issues for 4 days before I could reasonably navigate a stair again. MagCit didn't help with that level of pain, but I did run at Lake Tahoe on Wednesday after the race. |

another great one that i havent seen mentioned is turmeric. i get the youtheory brand that contains black pepper extract to increase absorption. it is a pretty great anti inflammatory supplement. after a hard skateboarding session i notice a definite improvement in the way my joints feel and how sore i get when im taking turmeric vs when im not.

Magnesium citrate in high enough doses will act as a laxative that is correct. At 200 mg it is unlikely to give that effect. You might get a little gassy and yes Wade PEG is the preferred choice of most endoscopists but there are other products out there. I can't remember the last time I gave someone mag citrate for a planned endoscopy. I do however prescribe it sometimes as a laxative.

I take Magnesium Citrate and find I can manage 4000mg daily without issues. Any more than that and I'm too loose in the rear.
I've used it since having a couple of bouts of Ventricular Fibrillation - and subsequent cardiac arrests. Right place, right time so I survived and have a defibrillator. Anyway just before I arrested I had a rhythm known as Torsade de Pointes which is temporarily rectified by Magnesium infusion - and it certainly did make a big difference to the frequency of abnormal beats in CCU. Further my arrests occurred after many hours of strenuous cycling over several days, (plus I was taking Esomeprazole which reduces Mg absorption) there appear to be no underlying conditions nor genetic issues so while the cardiologists won't confirm or deny a depletion of tissue Mg to be the precipitant, makes sense to me to use the supplement. |

These are some more researched test-boosters: fenugreek - support your body’s own production of testosterone, promote free testosterone levels, and support a healthy balance with estrogen and DHT. Ashwagandha root extract - provide antioxidant support to important testosterone-producing cells for greater testosterone production. Damiana - support the blunting of testosterone converting to estrogen. diindolymethane (DIM) - support the conversion of strong and damaging forms of estrogen into weaker forms that aren’t harmful to the body. Eurycoma longifolia - extract to further support both total testosterone and free testosterone levels. quercetin - reduce testosterone excretion and help you maintain higher testosterone levels for longer. Though if you're relatively young you probably don't need any test boosters. If you are doing any type of strength training, supplement daily with creatine (I prefer hydrochloride). Even on days that you don't train. Last edited by The Chaddening; 10-09-2017 at 03:31 PM.. |
