I'm glad they are sticking to good old reliable NA 3.5L V6 instead if 2.0L Turbo like everybody else doing. And don't bash FWD, in 20 years most BMWs will be probably FWD M-badge electric cars (considering the way things are going now).

Is it moving up market to compete with the E-Class and A6? What's going to happen to the GS?

Es is the segments sales leader, its not like they are gonna beat the M5 or E Amg in performance and Vroom.
So no point for the GS to exist really, ES GS who cares the people buying don't care about driving dynamics. Great if they are there but clearly sales have show the sad truth. Caddilac xts is out selling the CTS and maintaining a far lower sales drop year to year. Truth is the majority of people prefer to drive their sofa to work. |

In sort of the same way the 400hp AWD Lincoln MKZ is interesting today, yes.
Which is to say, it’s better (at least on paper) than most luxo-cruisers, but for the enthusiast, most of us would size down and get an RS3 with the same power for the same money, with much higher performance and fun factor. |
