All I saw in that article was that the STi RA is getting beefier pistons.

I mean everyone I talk to say lack of power is what holds them back on buying one.

Smart move putting Brembos on those monster wheels, a car with the same raw horsepower as a civic needs all the stopping power it can get.
Maybe its a bay area thing but the owners of these ridiculous cars have on a few occasions indicated that they want a Fast and Furious style street race with me. |

Or, you could buy one of the many turbo kits available for this more expensive, yet still underperforming brz/frs/86 and maybe be satisfied?? 300whp on e85 is pretty attainable and quick too

It's a great platform that just lacks power. Offer it with just a 50hp bump and you would see much more interest. |

I would think the execs know this. Maybe it would reduce WRX sales but Toyota doesn't really have an equivalent. The RC is also a Lexus and more of a grand tourer.

s2k cr was an excellent vehicle. people always complain about power. I really wonder how many of these complainers actually get to the cars limit.

It doesn't make it right but people do look at specs when buying cars.
Just about every manufacturer makes a sports car in the same price range that puts out more power. |

Wait, aside from the 150hp Miata, what are its competitors?
I've driven the BRZ a handful of times and it's not so much the lack of power as the horrible torque dip at 4.5k rpm. Makes it harder than my dads old FD RX7 to be smooth through an apex. |

I said same price range, not same segment.
It's silly to think that people aren't going to see what they can get for the same money. Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers all can be had for the same price. Even a base hyundai genesis coupe is going to be only few k more with 348hp |

The Miata is the closest competitor, but lacks any sense of a rear seat. But even down 50hp, it's quicker because of its lighter weight, has hugely better steering and doesn't have the awful power curve of the GT86. |
