So yeah, Stoplight Cameras work pretty well.
In the end yeah, I did go ballin through the intersection no two ways about it.
But I will say this: 1. I had scanned the corner prior to my arrival and it was clear and free of pedestrians/traffic. 2. I late Braked into the corner beautifully and with no drama or muss maintained my line and a 26MPH corner speed and accelerated from the apex... :laughing :whistling Yeah, I thought for a minute I might be able to argue this, but then I saw the video... No chance, not even going to try, I was straight moving. No excuse, but I am familiar with the intersection and the timing of the lights, I know that the North bound lane gets the green turn arrow and no u-turns. So at least it wasn't brainless, but busted anyway. Ah well, at least I've got some nice glossies... $128 to pay online, I went ahead and set up an account... Figure it won't be the last time.

Do they just blow up the image and look at your plate number in these pics? I always thought they were more zoomed in

wow i got to becareful around those cameras now, I thought they were just for traffic reports and accidents and such.

I wonder if it will count as a "parking ticket" on your record. I know the tickets you receive in the mail from speed cameras (school zones) don't go on your record....and are in fact designated as a parking ticket.
Regardless....these things are cropping up all over the place in the Puget Sound area.

They make license plate covers that distort the plate numbers (for cameras) so they can not read the plate. It may be worth the investment for you.

you obviously didn't come to a complete stop, but seeing this made me wonder if making a right turn on a red is legal in WA? I wouldn't mind knowing since I drive down there from time to time. It's legal here in BC so it's something I wouldn't have a second thought about doing elsewhere.

the thing that sucks is that the camera companies install the camera's for FREE and then get a cut of the ticket price. so your local government just raises the cost of the ticket to cover their cut..............
what we need is a cover for the plate that works like a computer screen cover....cops could see your number when behind you, but anyone/camera at an angle could not.... think I'll go to a computer store and get one and adapt to my place to see if it will work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the ticket...you are being very practical and level headed about the whole ordeal...but make no mistake about it...traffic lights video tickets are about one thing...money...that is it...they are an easy way for your local government to reach into your pocket
Every time they install these systems...the towns shorten the yellow to .8 sec from 1 sec...this does two things...more tickets and MORE ACCIDENTS...if you want less accidents...lengthen the yellow to 1.2 secs...but this will never happen...it is all about the benjamins baby...

Damn, that's pretty clear for traffic cam...what happened to the old black and white grainy photos day? I guess this is where my citation money goes, towards HD cameras..
