ONE in for review [lots of pics]

we just got a 135i in for review at CNET. it's sapphire graphite on red + dark gray poplar. it came with steptronic, comfort access, ZPP, ZSP and no navi.

this is the first time i got to see it in person so i was really excited. the car looks so joyful and nimble.

one weird thing, as you can see from the pics, the battery isn't really hidden well. i kind of like that little cubby hole in my 3er so it sucks a big-ass battery is in its place in the 1.

i will post links to video and textual reviews once they're up.

to each their own, i guess. i think it looks amazing for what it is. like a mini 3er.

the leather really is that red. the flash adds a bit saturation to it but it's pretty bright to begin with.

i also think sapphire graphite over coral red is one of those "can't go wrong with" color combos. it looks really good in person too.

actually, it is because computer geeks can't drive an MT. No matter how many miles they have on the track in Gran Turismo, the whole clutch thing is too complicated.

AT for the n54 engine is better than MT

shifts faster than you'll be able to with MT unless you abuse the transmission

and also, with the AT, the car holds boost so you get instant response

this is why AT 335i's have been getting such quick times

also, I remember somewhere that the MT transmission in the 335i can only support a maximum of 400HP, while the AT was rated for much more.

I have the AT; no regrets.

Probably because they knew that C|Net would shit all over iDrive and how crappy a non-touchscreen UI is...

That is not true. Its the other way around. The only thing the MT has to do is change is the clutch to hold more.
