I'm excited for this remake. Got 2 tickets for next Saturday showing at AMC IMAX 3D. Should be a good one.

Anyone else going to see this movie?

I wouldn't say I'm pissed, but I am a little annoyed. It's a fairytale. I don't know why young children are thought to be the age appropriate audience where you have to shove it down their throat and make them wonder about why that man is kissing another man, or that girl is kissing another girl.

They're innocent...let them enjoy a child like wonder for their child years. It's like everywhere I turn, TV, ads, etc, I'm hit with someone who is gay and I'm supposed to skip through the roses with them and celebrate how wonderful they are.

Nope, don't think so. Where are all the "I'm straight" celebrations? Why don't I get some of the public purse to celebrate my lifestyle? At the end of the day, its their choice, and even though I don't agree with that lifestyle, I'd fight for their right to be free from physical / emotional violence because that's wrong. But I don't really see any of that happening anymore...so why do we need to continue making such a big deal about the LGBT community?

This is the US trying to be progressive and show that everyone can be portrayed as equals. I agree with you though. It's everywhere.

I'm partial on whether it should be in a Disney movie or not. Personally I don't pay gay people any different bit of attention IRL than any other person, so in a Disney movie, unless there's two gays kissing..., don't see an issue. There's gay people in real life, there'll be gay people on screen too. Kids will be subjected to it in life regardless.

I would be annoyed if i had children.

My gripe is also the shoving down the throat thing. I mean, it's Disney, it's a classic which didn't feature any openly gay characters previously. So it must be their agenda. Right?

Why does Disney have an agenda to force parents to explain to children what same sex preference is?

That i don't get, but since i don't have kids, i don't have to watch this; i'm not some people.

Instead of an evening watching this, i'll go to the shooting range or something.

Just last night I was ready to go to bed when my boys decided they have a stomach bug. I'm so glad I got to stay up all night basically cleaning everything since their aim is very, very bad.

Gotta hand it to them! This one in a year and this one shows real potential in finally driving me insane! I had just done a load of laundry last night, when the tiny boy tried to run to the bathroom and puked on top of the already folded load.i can't even imagine what they are puking since both of them have been ib self inflicted food strike for two days almost.

But anyway, don't buy condoms!

Idk if I'd consider same sex preference something that is innappropriate for children.. I mean it should be about as normal as a tradition oriented person at this point and growing up with that portrayed can help reduce the stigma there currently is. And I was active military so I'm admittedly not a PC person lol

But is there really a stigma? 10-20 years ago, certainly. But today - not so sure there is. Do you treat people who choose a lifestyle different from the traditional differently? When was the last time you saw someone else actively treat said person differently (by different, I mean in some way that is demeaning due to their orientation - not for character flaws that they would criticize in any person regardless of orientation).

So why push the agenda? It's exhausting at this point.

And I've got clients who are gay - doesn't bug me in the slightest. Nor do I treat them any differently. But if they asked, I'd tell them that I can't agree with that lifestyle - that's mainly due to my Christian beliefs. Doesn't mean I wish them harm, quite the opposite actually. But I won't compromise my beliefs to be perceived as "tolerant". Which up here apparently seems to really be just one side saying that anyone who disagrees with my opinion must be a hateful intolerant bigot.

Dont get me wrong Anna banana. I love kids, hanging out with them, teaching, listening to the crazy shit thats on their mind..., but I like kids more when they are not mine. For the time being.

Couldn't have said it better myself my 3yo daughter will NOT be watching two homos making out! Russia has banned this movie. I could care less about the LGBT community...to each their own, but I'll be damned if I got to answer awkward questions from my daughter because Disney wants a broader audience...daddy why are 2 guys kissing

I have a disproportionate amount of friends and family that are in same sex relationships so maybe I just see it more due to exposure? Who knows but I just don't see why it's so hard explaining that it's no different from why a man and a woman are kissing...

I'm not sure it's so hard to explain rather than some don't like being forced to explain it before they think their children are ready to have it explained.

You really shouldn't have to worry about that with a disney film. In my opinion.

My understanding is that Disney was pretty discreet in the portrayal of the "openly gay" character (Le Fou). I think kids aren't going to bat an eye (no different than any other bro-mance they see on TV or on sports teams), and adults will understand the implication. So I don't think there's going to be any need for parents to do any explaining, if they don't want to.

But, of course, I haven't seen the movie yet.
