To my growing family. Another kid is on the way...end of June.

We are not sure what the gender is yet, but we'll be finding out for sure as we are both A-type personalities.

We are both really excited, that'll make two for us, but we've also decided that's it. It's all we ever really wanted initially, so this is great.

Getting the snip after this, I've seen too many guys in their late 40's suddenly find out they are expecting again after thinking their wife is through menopause, so I want to make things a little more certain as we are both only 35.

Anybody here have the snip (that they care to admit)? Little leery about it, but the alternative scares me more.

I've heard stories on both ends of the spectrum. Some say no big deal ice pack on the sack for a couple hours. Others have had nightmare pains for a long time.my wife's been wanting me to get one for a long time and when I start considering it I hear another horror story.

One thing I would definitely do is find a urologist who does a lot of them.

Just about everyone I know has visited Dr Weiss here in Ottawa, including myself.

Seriously, it's a 2 min job. Zap, done. About the same discomfort as getting a flu shot. Had it done on a Friday went curling Sunday, and was back to work (as a mechanic) on Monday.

Just make ABSOLUTELY sure you get the follow up test. I know of 4 or 5 people that had an oops afterwards.

Lol, in our household nobody wants me around if I attempt taking any hormonal products. Do the snip, it sounds bad but it such an easy operation for a man. Hell, donate to a sperm bank to be sure but that's a really good form of birth control.

And congrats. I want an other baby too so please enjoy for us babyfeavering idiots too.

Yeah, absolutely - I play poker with a urologist, but wouldn't be comfortable with her doing it. Mainly because I'll always be seeing her at poker. But I might be able to nicely ask her which colleagues she'd recommend. Apparently they are all pretty decent around here according to my wife, but she works in a different department so only knows them in passing.

Yeah, I am worried about that. I'd probably be one of those who gets a follow up test every year just to make sure nothing has "reconnected"

Dr Weiss is known as the Vas doc here, that is all he does, probably does 100 a day.
