Lifespan of LCD display monitors?

My flat screen LCD monitor suddenly became bright as hell out of no where yesterday. The colors became really cheap and washed up.

I didn't touch anything at all.. It was displaying perfectly fine till i looked up at the screen while studying at my computer desk. I tried every solution possible.. unplugging/replugging, reinstalling drivers, messed with the contrast, gamma, brightness settings, still washed up. I even tried it with a different video card and its still the same.

I would think it is a windows problem but its still messed up right when I turn on the computer(before Windows loads). So therefore it's GOTTA be the monitor display thats having problems.

I had this monitor for 7 years and its on about 12 hours a day on average. Could age be the culprit of this problem? Anyways I would think LCD monitors would last longer than 7 years.

I got a Hyundai L90D+ flat screen 19" by the way. Top of the line back in 2001.
