Did not expect that much pick up over the standard car. Crazy quick!

Some other cars tested by Sport Auto for comparison. All on Cup2 tires.

Nurburgring(sportauto)
AMG-GT R - 7:10.92
918 Spyder - 7:13
488 GTB - 7:21
991.1 GT3 RS - 7:28
M4 GTS - 7:37

That's impressive. Seriously impressive.

I'm not excited by its looks, unfortunately.

I want to want one, but I just don't. The front doesn't do it for me. The center exhaust doesn't do it for me (in the way the GT3 RS or the GT4 does).

Wow! What's your guess on lap time when MB has one their professional drivers take a run at it?

I hate AMG, but this thing is a beast! I am going to say around 7.03-7.05 when a factory driver goes for it.

I am sure factory lap is done alredy, sport auto is always second player on the ball. Google would tell us factory lap I guess. But sport auto is usally in the range of 3-12 seconds slower than factory.
In 991 RS they was 8 sec slower, in M4 GTS 9 sec slower than factory. Should be there-about in MB GT-R also I guess.

Something about it being ugly as sin, I'm guessing?

SA tested the 488 GTB last month, it ran 314km/h at Dottinger Hohe (at where SA takes the speed snap), but overall time was 7:22.

These cars are way too fast. Nobody(?) who buys one is gonna have any hope of driving it anywhere close to the limit.

Top 10 fastest street car times at the ring highlight where the AMG GT-R really lands relative to (some older) competition...
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/best-ca...times-20162017

918 laps in less than 6:57 vs Sport Auto's 7:13
