A stage 3 S4 usually pushes 380AWHP to 500AWHP so they have no problems taking out modded 335's. A stage 3 has everthing from injectors, bigger intercoolers, to larger turbos and they are usually mid to low 11 second 1/4 mile cars... It all depends on how the stage 3 was built and what it has, and what fuel it is running. When 335's have turbo upgrades available and C16 maps it will be game over for B5 S4's...

The B5 S4 (2000 -2002) is a 2.7L biturbo. Stock the car has 250 AWHP and 258 ft lb (I would assume those are crank numbers). A very well known tuning company in the Audi scene (APR - www.goapr.com) has a stage III kit for the B5 that puts it well into the mid 4's in AWHP and a little more in torque. That is just with the kit... not including supporting mods such as full exhaust, intercooler(s), etc...
A slightly modded B5 S4 (stage I or stage II) wouldn't stand a chance against a Procede, JBS2, or Dinan 335i. Now a fully modded stage III B5 S4 that would be a different story. I've personally seen an APR Stage III B5 S4 put down 454 AWHP and 489 ft lb on a mustang dyno. Not that I don't think the 335i is capable of those numbers (actually I think the 335i has much more potential than that) I have yet to see a 335i put down those type numbers... yet! |

You are better off swaping your fuel pump for a higher application one before you swap out the injectors. (But sooner than later if you want a 450+ whp safe* vehicle, you are prolly going to want to swap the injectors). *everyday driving capabilities with minimal risk for engine failure

Here is facts: A strong running 335i (Strong Tune, Exhaust, DP's, etc) versus A strong running B5 S4 Stage 3 (K04's and fueling) will equal in this outcome........ The race will be close up to 85 mph or so......for example, the S4 will lead by a car or so......after that, the 335 will get walked......HARD, very hard. Multiple carlengths A well-running Stage 3 S4 will trap 119-123 MPH........I believe most strong 335's are trapping 109-112? Perhaps one hit 116 if I'm not mistaken? Bottom line.......a well running Stage 3 S4 will pull handily and easily against a well running modded 335i. We've done multiple pulls with a well known member from here....WALKED U.....and even Sherwin would say though the 335i is getting closer......it is not that close by any means. I've got some of the videos.....let me see if I can find them Last edited by EvilEmpirE; 04-15-2008 at 09:35 PM.. |

i had an 02 a4 awd with injectors, intercooler, chip and exhaust and with all those mods my bone stock 335 is probably a little quicker.
