What type of smoothie Blender?
Hi guys,
I am thinking about investing in a Vitamix S55 for smoothie. Does anyone here have once that can provide feedback? It cost about $450. Is this the best option to go? What other brand is everyone using out there/ |

We have a $650 vitamix and a $150 Bamix hand blender.
If your doing fruit and yogurt the Bamix, if your doing some veggies the Bamix won't work. My gf is saying the neutrabullet might even be better at $99, it'll do veggies, but has a lifespan if using 3X a day of near 3 years. $299 Blendtec is something to consider. But the vitamix your considering is a nice personal machine. |

Why not just save your money and eat the fruit

I have a ninja, I bought it because I wasn't sure how much use it would get and I didnt want to spend $600 on a blender that might just sit on the counter or end up back in the cupboard. It turns out I use it daily and have been for the last couple years, it if ever breaks I may go with a vitamix or blendec because I know it will look nicer sitting out on the counter. My advice would be to ask yourself if you really need something capable of blending up an iPhone. Maybe give the ninja a shot for under $200 you can try it out see how much use it gets and if it sucks just return it to Costco.

This. The refurbished unit is the way to go. For all intents and purposes it looks and operates as new with a nice savings. If you can hold out until the holidays they often run some killer deals. We purchased ours a couple years back for ~$375 shipped. It see heavy use and is still running strong.

We use our Blendtec Total Blender daily. It is the go to blender for most smoothie and coffee chains, Sturbucks and Jamba Juice both use Blendtec blenders.
