what should i do? flood damage?
i live in south florida and for right now im driving a 2006 ford mustang with about 59K miles on it.... yesterday while i was at the gym it began to pour... i parked in a parking lot with bad drainage and water was up to the bottom of my front bumper.... i was advised not to move the car..
i picked up the car this morning thinking everything would be ok but there was a pool of water on the passengers side in the car... but the car started up fine... i called progressive to make a claim and i'm supposed to receive a phone call from them 2morrow... i was planning on selling the car to carmax and pick up a 335 in the near future... my insurance is already pretty high... should i cancel the claim and try to repair the damage myself? will i get alot less for the car because of the water damage? do you think its worth the hassle of progressive raising my insurance? i would really appreciate any advice i could get... |

I wouldn't report the water damage to insurance.. You'll get A LOT less for the car.. (you'll get as low as 30-40% of the book value..). If i were you, i would repair the damage at some professional auto cleaning/repair place and sell the car asap lol..Going to feel bad for the buyer...
