Serious question: which hand is the proper hand to wear a watch for men?

I usually dont wear one so Im curious. Some say right hand, some say if you're lefty then left hand.

Some said depends on the watch, if the dial is on the right of the watch then you wear on right hand????

You'll know once you wear it. It just feels right to you. When I was young I wore it righty because I was right handed, then switched to lefty because of society. Eventually I switched back and forth.
I'm exclusively a lefty now although at times if the band irritates me or something I do go righty for a few days.

Society says opposite hand, I say; your body will tell you what's right for you.

I assume by dial you mean crown...if the crown is huge like on some Panerai then that may be true. They make reverse watches specifically for this called Destro models. But I wear a standard 372 left handed and the crown is no issue for me at all.

General rule is that you wear the watch on your left hand.

In the olden days when watches had to be wound up every so often, the crown was placed on the right side of the face so you would use your dominant hand (right) to do the action. (if you were a lefty then you were just special)

The tradition carried on, and it's just the way things are. Now that the watches are either automatic or battery powered, positioning of the crown becomes redundant as it does not get used that often. With that said, wear it on whatever hand you don't wipe with.

I'm a lefty, and I wear mine on the right. There is less chance of knocking it into things and it doesn't get in the way when I'm writing things. . . I think that is the main reason its really popular to wear it on your non-dominant hand.

People generally recognize that I'm left handed when they see my watch on my right hand, and its like a secret handshake for the Worldwide Lefty Organization.

Why not Both?

Apple watch on right hand, and watch of the day on the left.

I have toyed with the idea of wearing the Apple Watch on my left wrist. Haha. I have everything else, but won't sacrifice wrist time of my "real watches" to wear an Apple Watch. Just haven't gotten past the oddity of wearing two watches. I'm leaning though!

I have worn FitBit type of device on my right wrist for a long time, when Apple Watch came out I knew I was going to get it. I am not giving up my mechanical watches anytime soon also.
