I'll be watching throughout the day.
Looks like drama this year will mostly be over Ford vs Ferrari in the GTs. Manufacturers in LMP1 scaled back on their entries down to 2 cars. Wish Nissan reworked their entry and continued instead of just totally killing off their LMP1 program. |

Toyota breaks down with six minutes to go and Porsche takes the win... Unbelievable.

Wow, what a victory for Ford in GT! There may be some excellent years ahead for them and seems like the company will continue to transfer tech from motorsport to street cars.

The Toyota team must have the feels right now knowing that they had the race on lock and break down like that.

Just reading the stats this morning. Sounded like quite an end!
So #5 Toyota was ins the lead going into the 2nd to last lap? An article said they took the overall lead at the 4 hour mark. Also the near podium sweep for Ford is impressive. How close was the final gap between the cars on the lead lap?

Heartbreaking for Toyota. They did everything right and had some breaks go their way. I woke up this morning expecting Toyota as overall winners.
Ford GTs were top of their class in terms of performance. #68 car closed the gap to the #82 Ferrari by 2 seconds a lap after being down by 30 seconds to take the lead around the 20 hour mark. I think the Ford was even penalized for having keeping the engine running while being refueled. |

I cannot believe that happened to Toyota. I watched a good chunk of the race, probably about 10 hours total. I was watching the final hour, and when they started the final lap I thought the race was a total lock for Toyota. I walked into the kitchen, refilled my beverage, came back into the TV room and saw the shot of the entire Toyota garage with sad faces. I was gone for literally 30 seconds, maybe less. Then I saw that the track was under yellow flag conditions. I said out loud to myself "what the heck happened?" Then I saw the number 5 dead in the water. I was stunned to say the least. I can't say I've ever seen anything like that happen in all the years I've been watching motorsports. It's a real shame, because they genuinely deserved the win.
