Do you think e90post will ever "die?"
I've been on the forums a while and still remember when no one was really sure how to mod an e90. I still remember when how excited people were when they found blacklines in the catalog...lol. The website has been alive for a while and since the cars (e90 and e92) are no longer new I was wondering how long do you think the website will last? The moderators have changed and a lot of people have come and gone. I check the FS sections often and found that a lot of people are parting out, selling their cars and getting something else. Yes we have new people coming in everyday but I think that the influx of people is not equivalent to the people leaving. My question is, with people buying other cars and migrating to their respective forums how long do you think that it will be till this community becomes non-existent? Do you ever think the community will ever become non-existent?
Kinda pessimistic I know but it was just a thought that had occurred to me. |

mantis could easily sustain the community by himself.
But I dunno. I bet a lot of people here might move on...well I mean that's obvious...but it might be to the next gen 3 series or whatever. Who knows.

lol i was going to say.... until nabil kicks the bucket, or his post count caps out and he has no more motivation to continue pwing... or until his head explodes from my posts, in which case #1 would apply.
or until he buys a kia and moves onto their fourms...

As people move on to other cars and thus their forums, won't some move over from other brands to BMW and thus this forum? As long as BMW creates new models and is successful, BMW forums will exist. This one might die off, but not BMW forums as a whole.
If you mean the e90 portion of the forum, than yes. |

The forum will hit an all time high then become crap like e46f.com. Sad to see how e46f.com has transformed into what it is today. But until then, let the good modding going !

As the demographic of the modding owners changes, the post will decline. I say by 2010, when a 335 is comming off a 3 year lease and the car is more affordable to more people, the quality of the posts will really decline. We'll all be gone by then, I suspect.

Well, e90post is a part of Bimmerpost. Once the new 3 series comes out I'm sure there'll be an fXXpost (whatever code they give it) out there. I dunno if I'll have a 3 as my next car. I don't know if it'll be the current M3 when prices drop. It could be an S5, a C63...we'll just have to wait and see. It could even be the new RS4 so long as they don't rape the pricing of it.
I do like this community though...that sounds so ghey...

actually the quality of the posts declined after news of the 335i. if you've looked at the past posts of old members such as longtran and ksfrogman most members were still discovering what they could do to their cars.... everybody was humble more eager to listen and we had less "unique" characters on the boards. today its a different story... its not quite to the point of the e46 boards but somewhere in the middle.

yeah, i beleive that this forum is at its peak ATM. it only can go downhill from here. u have no idea how depressed i got when i saw the concepts for the new 3er.... it jsut reminds me that our cars are getting old, and so is this forum. and eventually, people will part out.
i love this community, and most of the people here! but hopefully, bimmerpost.com will create a new one for the new 3er, and those who get that will stick with it. or maybe somehow merge E90 post with the new one. but yes, eventually we all will go our seperate ways, but nothing good lasts forever. but hey, thats the way life works.
