Why do poeple hide their license plates?
I don't understand why people are hiding their license plates in their pictures. Everyday you drive around and you expose your plate to hundreds or thousands of people. I'm just confused.

Yea personal information is different. Identity thefy is rampant these days, but your license plate?? Whats the big secret? Can I empty someones bank account by knowing their plate?

oh oh- I get it
So people like me who are waiting patiently (yea right) for their e92's don't get a little tired and then look up your car's license. You would wake up to an empty driveway. me- the wait is making me crazy. absolutely insane.

License plate alone wouldn't do it. But carefully reviewing someone's post(s) you tend to know a lot about them. Tracing their IP address would allow you to know what area they are from (usually) You already know what car they drive. You could call your insurance company and say such and such person hit my car what is their info, or you can have a slimy car accident lawyer do it for you.
There are many ways to steal an identity someone's license plate # just adds another piece of information to the pile. Protect your identity, shred your bills after you pay them, destroy shipping labels before you dispose of the packages etc... |

Police have access to these forums, just like the rest of the world does. Your racing stories, personal stories, and car itself can all be tracked down to a simple license plate on the back of your car. That plate number exposes your name, address, and driving record.
Does it make sense now?

I dunno if this discussion started from my post yesterday when I edited my pics so that my plates dont show, but I feel the same way as everyone else. I had originally posted my pics and then I kept hearing from people that I shouldnt have reavealed my plates......I became so paranoid that I decided to edit them. Oh well....done now!
