to get the ROMs on the phone you have to get a transfer program on your computer. Downlaod the ROM's onto your computer from a website and then transfer the ROM's into a certain directory on the iPhone. I did it a while ago... I'll look for a DIY for you.

Actually, I have the screen protector on mine (I know, I know - the screen is quite scratch resistant on its own) and have observed no loss in functionality.

davedave, I have the rubber case as well (maybe a similar one) and I stopped using it. The case is a haven for dust and other particles and what happens is friction (case and iphone) causes micro abrations on the chrome strip/trim making it appear dirty and dull. You might want to be careful with that...

+1. I have a screen protector on mine as well but have stopped using cases. Mainly because I can't find an unobtrusive one that doesn't stick to the inside of my pockets
