Hmm... tons of kit for $66k, maybe the best version of the Vette "The Grand Sport, for those not in the know, is a Corvette with essentially all of the Z06 model’s suspension, braking, body, and tire upgrades, but with the regular Stingray’s naturally aspirated, 460-hp 6.2-liter V-8. Chevrolet claims that on its standard Michelin tires, the Grand Sport can pull over 1.0 g on a skidpad, while the optional Z07 package’s stickier rubber could strain your soft bits with 1.2 g. " http://blog.caranddriver.com/2017-ch...-a-grand-deal/ ===================== Updated 3/5/16 Good Info $68,995 MSRP ???? I wonder.... =============================== This is probably the Best thing at Geneva ... I wonder how much this will be over a Z51 C7. Z06 parts without the Motor.. Props to Chevy again.. http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-grand-sport.html http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-and-info-news http://www.motortrend.com/news/2017c...s-reserved-608 Last edited by DocWeatherington; 04-29-2016 at 03:27 PM.. |

This will be the vette to buy! Best motor and best suspension available from factory finally rolled into one car. The FI powerplant is great for numbers but it's just too much IMO. NA v8 much better.

First off..wow wow wow. The car looks amazing. Secondly, I agree this is definitely a nice middle ground for the C7. The Z06 is so far apart from the Stingray in looks, performance, and price. This car should fill that gap nicely..

Tires are going to be the killer on this though. At best, 2 sets a year at ~$2K.
That's $4K a year (or $333/mth) in just tires. OUCH!! Unless of course it's a weekend car only.

This is amazing! Sounds like an even better bang for your buck than the Stingray without being over the top like the Z06 (for those who DD the car). It's good to see Chevrolet actually making a different car instead of rebadging it for sales like the last GS (which was legit just a Z51 package vehicle).
It's a shame... I just put a deposit down on a 2016 Stingray 3 weeks ago and it will be built next week. Considering my car came out to over $75,000 MSRP, I can only imagine I could have jumped into the GS for that price. Ah, well, you can never keep up. |

Wish I needed two doors and instead of 4 when I bought my car. Love the Vette (but with the supercharged motor)

Looks nice, but I bet it makes too much downforce just like the z06. Too bad gm thinks that the parachute in the sports car is a good idea. If the z with so much power is slow after the 130, then this will be even slower. Chevy must improve that. Not everyone wants a track car. Some drivers also care about the acceleration, top speed etc

Agreed... it IS, in fact, a track oriented car. If someone doesn't want that, get a dragster because the C7 isn't that Downforce is great at speed on a road course and makes most every aspect of the car far better... who cares about stop light racing or illegal high pulls. This is about real drivers taking it to the track
