1er Lease #s out

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4710

Cliffs:
MF=.0031 for all leases on all 135i
Residual= 71/64/58 for 24/30/36

Over $800 a month for a well optioned car (non premium), $900 for a loaded up car.

More expensive that 335i, Z4MC.

No Offence to any one here but this post is BS and must be from some one with nothing better todo than make shat up! for one .0031 is not a money factor haha it would be .00031X and two I know this to not be true as I work for BMW and there has been NO I REPEAT NO RELEASE ON LEASE RATES AS OF TODAY!!!!!! P.S how is a car that is almost 10k less than a 335 going to price out a 100 dollars or more a month?? I know most of us here are fairly intelligent!!

Just so you know, a .00031 money factor would translate into .744% APR. If you were actually a car dealer, I'm sure you would know that this is NOT what to expect for any car on a lease. You're welcome to do the math yourself to confirm this, if you know how. The lowest MF currently offered by BMW is .002. You can confirm this through BMW financial. It is almost an order of magnitude greater than what you suggested.

Furthermore, I stopped by my BMW dealer a little bit earlier.. The information I linked to is accurate. As I went in, they were playing around with numbers to attempt to make the best lease "offer" they could for advertisement. They confirmed the numbers before my eyes with BMW financial. The salesman were quite annoyed, as a few customers had already canceled after hearing that their $44,000 car would be nearly $900 a month. They were considering publishing an offer with a 20% deposit, to lower the monthly payment numbers.

I'm rather suprised that you work for a BMW dealer, but didn't have access to this information. Everyone at my dealer was well aware of it, and it was creating quite a stir.

I don't know if the 1'er buyers got screwed quite as badly as the M3 folks with those rock bottom residual numbers, but in both cases, one has to hope that BMW Financial made a typo that will be corrected.

Personally, I'm debating between paying cash for this car, or canceling the order and going for a Z51 Vette, or perhaps a Z4MC.

Does the ever increasing value of the euro (or decreasing of the dollar) play into this?

Nah, same thing as on the M3's lease factors. Hot off the press cars do not have as attractive of lease financing as cars that have been around.

I think that's what I might have to do, but quite frankly, I'm not inclined to give BMW my money at this point.

I'm kinda pissed. I've had this car on order for 6 months, was given ballpark lease numbers of ~500-550 a month for 36mo with nothing down, and it turns out they're actually more than $200 more.

What's more, I've ordered nonrefundable plane tickets, along with a couple thousand dollars in hotel reservations for european delivery that will be a bitch to get back. It quite frankly irks me.

Wait about 6-8 months and the lease rates will plummet.

MANY people are awaiting this car and MANY people will blow 800/mo on it.

When the 335 vert came out people were happy to dish out 1100/mo for it.

BMW knows demand is high and hence decide to fuck us all over... it's business and it sucks!

Actually my friend the lowest MF is not .002 but .00175 which is offered on the 328 sedan. And a .002 MF translates into a 4.8% and a MF of .00175 translates into 4.2%. To get the % just multiply the MF by 2400.

Thanks for the correction, didn't see that one when I skimmed the numbers.

I dont think the 1 series MF will be that high. I may be wrong on this one so whoever knows better please feel free to correct me. When the 335 coupe just came out in 07 wasnt the MF .00175 for a month or two before it went up. Dealers were selling it above or at MSRP but the MF was low. Therefore in my opinion I think the MF on the 1 series might be between .00175 and .00225

I debated this situation before ordering my 335i sedan at the beginning of January. I really liked the 135i, but I felt that since it was a two-door that the lease on it would end up not being all that great. I pretty much based that impression on the fact that the 3 coupe is around $100/mo more than the sedan, in part because the residual is not going to be as good due to greater demand for four-doors. Combine that with a lease that probably has zero subsidy and it looks like I made the right choice.

Call your BMW dealer, they can confirm it for you. The numbers I posted regarding MF came from BMW Financial.
