Apple Watch
Just picked up the 42mm space grey apple watch sport, and so far I love it!
Anyone else have one, and if so, do you like it/find it useful? |

Uh no.
If you like it that's fine. My mom's friends daughter was Steve Jobs wife. With that in mind, my personal opinion on these is: 1. Hate apple anything except iPad. Never owned an inferior apple computer, phone, or anything else. Never will. 2. Watches are jewelry to be treasured and passed down. Tag, rolex, omega, etc. Electronic watches are gimicky junk that are outdated after a year. They serve no useful purpose other than to brag to other apple geeks you have one. Your smartphone does everything and more than a stupid smart watch. 3. I think of smart watch wearers as people who drive a prius, wear sandals and don't shave often. Vegans, liberal, save the world protest wall street. On other words, pretty much everything I despise. Ifor I saw my friend with one I'd remove it, stomp it, then bring him to the tag store. Friends don't let friends wear smart watches. Real Watch Gay Just my opinion. Last edited by Fundguy1; 01-17-2016 at 03:53 PM.. |

Can you share what you like about it and how you plan to use it? I typically have my phone with me all the time so just wondering how I would use the watch other than as a watch.

Seriously, there are more polite ways to tell someone to fuck off, let alone not post in a thread about something that doesn't interest you. I have a garmin fenix 3. It's a sports watch with smart watch capabilities. I originally got it for heart rate and to replace an old cycling computer. But it's much more than that. I haven't taken it off since I got it except to shower. Op, enjoy your watch and remember, opinions can be assholes. Err... Or is it, they are like assholes....

Wow.
So tell us how you really feel about smart watches... My wife got me one for my bday. She knows I like tech but tbh, I could not justify the cost for what it does...a little ahead of its time I guess...(no pun intended) About the only thing I liked about it was getting texts etc on the watch...didn't need to reach into pocket, dig out my phone, only to find out it was a unimportant text/email... I told her to return it. At this point, I'd rather put that $ towards a tag... |

I've got a TAG Carrera Auto, and a Two Tone Sub as well, so I can appreciate a good watch. This Apple watch is something completely different. For working out/running, or other situations where I'm not gonna wear one of my other watches. |

$1,000 for a watch that does everything your phone does for workouts? Mskes no sense. My phone does the same buy better for my workouts and even if I had the watch I'd still have the phone. Useless expensive tech that will be outdated in a year. And it's apple.
Back to my workout. My S5 says I have 2500 more steps to hit goal today. Last edited by Fundguy1; 01-17-2016 at 06:44 PM.. |

i don't like to wear watches, i think this first gen device has a way to go before gaining any mass acceptance. Now that the tech is hear... innovators can now incrementally unlock the value of it in the future. i mean having a water proof watch while snorkeling with an iphone in a protective case on me could have value to someone. sending/reading texts at 1 atm, or doing stock trades under water are neat things for someone i'm sure (just not me).
