Family has a 1989 Island Packet 35. It's a slug with anything less then 10 knots of wind and zips along at 15 knots.
This is a newer model, but is similar in size and dimensions. |

Whenever there is wind to get it going in the summer. Unfortunately the Chesapeake is mostly a <10 knot place. Or at least where the boat is kept the wind seems to be always <10 knots. As I said, the boat is a heavy one( full keel) and it sings at 15 knots.

Personally I am a correct craft kind of guy. I am buying a super air nautique this summer. They are by far the best quality boats in the wakeboarding industry. You hit a double up and the tower dosnt even squeek.

Nope and dont want one.. They are a lot of work.. I just help pay for gas and help clean up my friends boat after we go to the lake. They seem like a nightmare to own and tow and store.

lucky you. I live in AZ and basically we can only use the lake during the summer months, and at most my friend takes the boat at once every few weeks, partly because we have to drive around 2 hours depending on traffic.

glad to see more sailing enthusiasts around here
I've got my power boat license by the RYA getting my skipper's soon (although I've been piloting one since I was like 12) Twin 7.4L V8 MerCruisers my speedboat is the second from the left, and the sailboat next to it is also mine it's a 1990 Formula Thunderbird... bloody fast.. I've hit 70+ knots with it (flat sea etc...) and the sailboat.. I have no idea it's make.. but I love it.. it was built in West Germany if I recall right...
