GM Alpha 5-link rear suspension
Saw this at PRI last week but this picture is better than mine. Looks an awful lot like e90/f30 suspension.

Are you suggesting that there are people that think the new GM cars are still being made with leaf springs?

True, like to believe the best in folks though. That's just funny. Leaf springs.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Thank God they still use wheel studs. Had GM switched to wheel bolts, it would be am EXACT copy of the E90 suspension.

I had read when GM was developing this chassis they were using the e46 and e90 as a basis (in terms of handling and light weight). You can see how the arms are lightened.

What production car has BMW ever sold that could get around a race track faster than a C7 Z06 with its "antiquated" leaf springs and pushrod motor?

Yes, now M's have them, nothing else does. Been that way since the E46 left. Cheaping out, at the same time as giving cars more low end torque, just a bad approach.

I bought a year old ATS V-6 a year and a half ago. It is definitely not perfect but I was impressed by what I could get a year old one for and I got it with RWD, LSD, Magnetic Ride shocks, forged, staggered wheels, Brembo brakes. Ride/handling/braking is very good.
I don't care if a company takes an existing design and incorporates it on their car and also don't believe BMW was the first to develop a 5 link rear suspension. Believe front strut design is also very close to many other cars.
