Excuse for not having someone stay at your house

Long story short..

I'm going to be in Europe from 12/19-1/11, and my brother and his wife from New York wants to stay at our house in San Diego from 12/22-12/27.

My husband absolutely hates my sister-in-law and doesn't want them to stay at our place. Generally this sister-in-law is cunning and we don't know if they will be rummaging through our stuff while we're gone.

What's a good excuse to tell them?

Tell them it's being watched by the FEDS and for their safety it would be better if they don't come by till the situation blows over.. If they ask questions tell them the investigation is on going and you have to plead the 5th for now.

I have friends and family that always ask if they can crash in my second bedroom when up in the city or visiting from out of state. I flat out tell them NO. I dont allow any house guests at all. Usually I get the..."but you have an extra bed..." response but I my answer stays firm.

Tell them you arent running an Air B and B
