Question What car would you buy with $10k?

Just kicking around ideas right now. I enjoy my current daily (Mazdaspeed6) as I missed my old one so much, I bought this one 3 years later! Bought the old one new in 2007 & got rid of it in 2010. Picked the current one up in 2013. I've put a lot of time & money into it and still enjoy driving it, but the urge to get something else is always there.

No kids etc so I could get whatever the hell I want. I work from home, but still go into the office weekly so it's got to be something halfway reasonable for snow. However, I do want another Miata. I could always slap snow tires on it.

Important factor is it has to be fun to drive!!! I also miss being able to drop the top, but that is not a must have. I must have some semblance of power unless it is a light, fun & nimble car like the Miata. No, I have zero desire to buy a Fiat.

Sooooo what would the members of E90P buy?

You can get a vert, and I really like them with the hard top..

Could we get more info? Will it become your only DD or an addition. Any preferences on size, power, driven wheels, looks, etc?

Tons of great choices for second cars, especially if you're willing to turn them into projects.

It will be my DD. You'd have to have one hell of an argument to get me to replace it with a FWD car.

Easy to work on

Should never have sold mine.
Got a mint 98 M3 vert to replace it and kind of missed the Z after a month, believe it or not.

My vote is for a Boxster. If you are diligent in your search you can find some great deals. Good luck!

Can easily be found under $10k. The M Coupes are the expensive ones.

You'd have one terrible discussion to get me to substitute it with a FWD car.

Out of all the suggestions, and anything I have thought of so far, the Miata is the only car I'd seriously sell it for so far.

I DD'd an MR2 for over a decade. Driving home after a stressful day was the best part.
