I've owned iPhone for years, a few months ago I went crazy and dumped it for a Droid, regretted it almost immediately but I wanted to see what other phones offered. Dumped the droid and went back to my old iPhone.

Now with iPhone 6s coming out I'm thinking of getting it next week.

Just curious what phones do you have and what do,you prefer and work best.

I felt like when I dumped my iPhone all I ever saw was people with them and it made me cringe regretting my choice even more. Droid did not impress me at all.

OP - iPhones are great products that allow people to simplify their media and technology into one ecosystem....better yet, it all WORKS.

People will always hate them for various reasons, buy and use what suits your lifestyle.

Simplify might be true, but you are now stuck in that ecosystem unless you want to lose media. Apple makes it hard to get out of their ecosystem on purpose. The imessage scandal is one example, but there are a lot more.

Who said I cared, douche? I was asking a simple question of what other prefer and I had issues with my droid and Bluetooth in BMW

Name calling right off the bat? I expected more.

I say you care because you said you immediately noticed other people had a lot of apple phones right after you switched. Which means you care. I mean you cringed when you saw so many iphones! Otherwise why bring it up? Phones are not a status symbol.

I just bought two 700 androids last week and all my cars are paid off except the e92 but that is on purpose. But I'm not about to get into an online dick measuring contest with you about money. Rest assured I can afford apple products.

Overpay as in I can buy a faster laptop for 1/4 of the price of an apple. This is true for most of their products. They also make it insanely hard to move away from them which is on purpose and is annoying and frustrating. You also can't have an iPhone and run native *unix. Just 1 example of how apple limits you.

Apple iPhone quality isn't amazing. They beat the shit out of their suppliers so they take the smallest margin. Which is why I burned through 6 apple phones in under 2 years.

To the guy who mentioned I own 3 e90s news flash: a 3 series is an entry level bmw and not a status symbol when anyone making 50k a year can get a loan for one.

Secondary backup hard drive outside of the ecosystem is a perfect solution (personal cloud) to this risk....Droid OS (Google) is just as easy to hack, however the adoption rate of corporate use by Droid OS is not as prevalent yet...

IMHO - All tech has risks for data loss, just have to be diligent with storage and back-up.

I'm not debating or arguing with lifestyle....you're the one that brought this into the thread. The same analogy can be used for BMW owners as well as Apple owners....

Iphone personal phone, Galaxy S5 work phone, not getting on with the work phone so much, it's not as fast as my iphone 5s, lasts 5 minutes on battery, colour balance on the screen is wonky and it's just not as intuitive to use.

What i meant was Cray cray is caring about what phones other people have like it is a status symbol or something.

Most apple owners I've talked to want it because it's an iPhone not because of what it can or cannot do, features, etc. Granted not all are but in my experience it's the majority which is why when I see someone with one I think they are a fan of the image/status symbol they think it gives them. That is why I used the word fan boy.

Both are decent products. I prefer droid. I wasn't trying to offend anyone with my post. It's just how I view it.

In other news I'm going to go flash my e92 with MHD with my phone, then do a few logs, and start another protune. I can't do this with an iphone. I can with a brand new $150 android if I wanted.

I think you misunderstood me. The media you buy from apple is drm protected by apple. You cant transfer those to non apple devices until you take the drm protection off. There are a lot of nuances like these that apple does to make it harder to switch to non apple devices.

Agree....however, I am not sure that is critical to people that are apple users. The brand has a retention rate that is far better than others...

Which is partially because it is hard to move away from them and converting your music etc is not something the average person wants or is capable of doing. I think it's semi-simple but not for the average person. I also think most people don't understand that they technically can take their media with them, granted it is a process.

But these are the business practices that get people to dislike apple. Google on the other hand allowed apple to post an app in the play store that transfers everything from an android phone to an iphone.

Apple would never allow an app like that from google in their app store.
