It's really funny to me how people make a big deal out of these numbers.
It's lighter than the 335 and has the same engine... of course the numbers are going to be a tad better. It gets less respect because of the body roll, the height which hurts handling (it's taller than the 3) and the looks Besides that it is an excellent car, just a bit overpriced. |

The #'s are from C&D, the BMW official numbers are always more conservative.

5.3 is BMW's numbers which a bit exaggerated. Also 5.3 is to 62mph and 4.7 is to 60. Big difference!

awesome, i forgot that bmw tends to underrate its cars
cant wait for terry, shiv and other tuners to get their hands on it. the 135 is going to be a VERY surprising sleeper to those unaware of its potential |

it's only 200 lbs lighter and the 335 has better aerodynamics - 2/10ths isn't much - 135 should be quicker as it is a little lighter, but it is all on the driver, traction, temperatures and track conditions the day they do the test. The 200lbs won't make much of a difference and even if it did, I would still pick the 335 on looks and be a little slower! |

Wow, look at all the haters of the 135i, I really wasn't expecting this from this forum. I thought it would be a BMW brotherhood....guess I was wrong.
As for ugly, I don't think the 135i is ugly. And for the neon comment, funny, I had a 2003 neon srt-4, Stage 3..lots of bolt ons (12.4 at 116mph), fun car. I was very impressed with the performance of the 335, I am just as impressed with the 135i. With a slight tune, the 135i is going to be one hell of a car. |

There are more. People here said because of the single exhaust the 135i will put out less power and the skinnier rear tires will not be able to put the power down. Just like speculation of an inch taller than 335i will somehow make it a lot more wobbly. The 135i may has more body roll than the cayman but its suspension is expected to be more taut than the 335i. So if the 135i rolls a lot... then... Last edited by Robert; 02-20-2008 at 06:07 PM.. |
