Are Rolex watches cheaper overseas?
What kind of discount can one expect from an AD for Rolex? And is it cheaper in Hong Kong, Dubai, etc.?
I was browing watchuseek and someone mentioned they were able to get 25% off a Sub-C date from an AD in Toronto. |

This isnt really considered "overseas" although you do need to cross a body of water to get to them, but I heard the duty free shops in the bahamas are the cheapest. No taxes and you can haggle on a discount

If you want to avoid taxes, you can just buy from a dealer in another state. Easy to do with online transactions.

High end stuff we usually try and buy in Europe, you can haggle as like here in the US but then you can get the VAT "returned" to you by sending out the completed forms...that is if you are a tourist.

Go TRF. If that doesn't work then go to the Rolex website and start calling. You can get up to 20% off from experience depending on the watch model and avoid tax if you purchase in another state.

never the less, are they cheaper overseas? not by much.....but the biggest savings is the taxes. Duty free shops in airports make a bunch of sales because of that

head over to TRF and buy from a trusted seller on there.. you'll save a lot more money that way unless you're a repeat customer at an AD
if you're skeptical (you shouldn't be if you do your research and buy the seller, not the watch) then i think it's worth paying extra for piece of mind and that AD service/attention if you want pre-owned/vintage.. then HK and Japan are huge markets it's going to be hard to get a significant discount on any S/S Rolex.. you'll have better luck on two-tones and precious metals |

A bit of a broad question because the discounts vary depending on the time on the year. In Dubai you can avoid VAT, plus you might be able to tie down a 10-15% discount. Just go to one of the malls instead of the Duty-Free at the airport
