What sort of difference? The gas here has 10% ethanol, not sure what an additional 5% will do.

No.

E85 requires special elastomers, seals, fuel pump and a fuel sensor that changes the engine FMS based on the fuel and prob. special cats. More parts I am sure.

All we can use is 10% ethanol, no more.

E85 is for the GM flex fuel vehicles etc. The car has to be designed for it.

If your friend uses it, GL, its his money. It'll wreck the car.

+1 It is bad for cars that are not designed for it.

Your car will run on Everclear too but I would not recommend it.

With all the fuel pump problems, I've never used gas that has ethanol. Out of all the fuel pump failures that I've seen posted, I don't ever recall seeing any from Europe, and EU nations don't use ethanol.

+1

Ethanol is much more corrosive to a standard fuel system than is gasoline, and would foul regular fuel lines after only a few tankfuls. Given that E85 has a lower energy density, your fuel economy is also lower, which is why flex fuel cars have a 30% larger fuel tank than standard cars.

ethanol is bad for all cars over time, even ones designed for it. most scientists think its horribly designed and simply a trend. it creates water vapor inside the engine which corrodes cylinder walls and seals.

NO!!!. It is less efficient. There is less heat energy in ethanol than in the same volume of gasoline. Ethanol burns cleaner and makes farmers money.

Ethanol is crap. And makes the price of food more expensive because of it.

Not to mention that you use more gasoline growing and manufacturing the corn it takes to make it than you gain from its production. By a pretty ridiculous ratio too. Ethanol is the biggest scam in decades.

no unless you want to replace the whole Fuel system.. YOu can modify to e85, but it will cost you more than arm and leg.
